The Lemosho route, a newer and slightly more expensive alternative, offers a remote and
beautiful experience. Starting on the western side of the mountain at the Lemosho Gate, this
route joins the Machame Route at Lava Tower, passing through forests, moorlands, and the
Shira Plateau. Known for its acclimatization advantage, the Lemosho route extends over 7 or
8 days with a medium difficulty level, excellent scenery, and high traffic..
Embarking on a 45-minute drive from Moshi, you'll journey through picturesque
mountainside villages to reach the Kilimanjaro National Park Gate. At this point, Btd Safaris
will facilitate the permit issuance while you observe the preparations for the upcoming
adventure. Enjoy the lush rainforest scenery and winding trails, guided by our experts who
share insights into local flora, fauna, and wildlife. Gaiters and trekking poles are
recommended for the muddy and slippery trails at lower elevations.
